“4. I think that even if you don’t want to play the game (like me), it’s still necessary to know the “rules”, so that you don’t get played yourself. Games are childish: let’s not delay the future, miscommunicate what we say, or misrepresent who we are. If we’re going for it, then let’s go. If not, then let’s keep it moving. Truth is some people are just too insecure with themselves to be completely genuine and vulnerable..”—
got this from some advice my friend posted. how easy it is to get lost in it..i feel like it’s so much easier to just be completely honest and straight with each other. but then in so many ways, it’s easier said than done haha
“Happy moments, PRAISE GOD.
Difficult moments, SEEK GOD.
Quiet moments, WORSHIP GOD.
Painful moments, TRUST GOD.
Every moment, THANK GOD.”—
Just a simple reminder that HE should be in EVERY part of our life… the good, the bad and the ugly. Just b/c times get tough doesn’t mean He’s not there… it simply means he wants you to grow… and once you’re out of it, then don’t forget to thank Him for helping you become a better person. lately, i’ve let myself get overwhelmed easily…and i have to remind myself that what i should be doing is not counting my worries/problems but rather counting my BLESSINGS. when i fear, i’m not trusting in God cause i know He will always take care of us. So lol here comes the rain of “have faith” verses to keep me focused on trusting and not fearing….
The Lord instructs Isaiah to tell Ahaz: “Be careful, keep calm and don’t be afraid. Do not lose heart…”
"….If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all"
Isaiah 35: 4
Say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, He will come with vengeance; with diving retribution he will come to save you.”
"…Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine."
"I am the one who comforts you. Who are you that you fear mortal men, the songs of men who are but grass, that you forget the Lord your Maker…that you live in constant terror every day because of the wrath of the oppressor, who is bent on destruction?"
“What’s coming is a million new reasons not to live your life. You can deny your possibility to succeed and blame it on something else. You can fight against everything… everything you pretend keeps you down. You can live Kierkegaard’s inauthentic life. Or you can make what Kierkegaard called your Leap of Faith, where you stop living as a reaction to circumstances and start living as a force for what you say should be.
What’s coming is a million new reasons to go ahead.”—
People think a soul mate is your perfect fit, and that’s what everyone wants. But a true soul mate is a mirror, the person who shows you everything that is holding you back, the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life.
A true soul mate is probably the most important person you’ll ever meet, because they tear down your walls and smack you awake. But to live with a soul mate forever? Nah. Too painful. Soul mates, they come into your life just to reveal another layer of yourself to you, and then leave.
A soul mates purpose is to shake you up, tear apart your ego a little bit, show you your obstacles and addictions, break your heart open so new light can get in, make you so desperate and out of control that you have to transform your life…

“It’s easy to look at people and make quick judgments about them, their present and their past, but you’d be amazed at the pain and tears a single smile hides. What a person shows to the world is only one tiny facet of the iceberg hidden from sight. And more often then not, it’s lined with cracks and scars that go all the way to the foundation of their soul.”—
We sometimes forget how important it is to be gentle and kind. Life is already so hard…that kindness..it goes such a long way making things easier for people…if even for just a few seconds of their lifetime. I really believe that karma takes care of itself. If you give that kindness…it will make its way around.
This quote also reminded me of another quote!
"Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle."
and one more..
"Kindness in words create confidence. Kindness in thinking creates profoundness. Kindness in giving creates love." - Lao Tzu
I really believe that at the end of the day…all you need is love. Love will get you through the day. It’s hope, kindness, and love that bring light to the darkness. So often, we find ourselves lost in the darkness. But one thing to remember is GOD IS LOVE! So you will always have love, and there will always be light in the darkness.
Sometimes your mind says one thing,
And your heart will disagree.
Your mind has all the reason, for which your heart gets all the grief.
And somewhere in the middle,
In your soul, there lies the truth.
Your soul becomes the median for what it is that you should do.
Sometimes your mind & soul agree
and your heart, it feels conflicted.
Sometimes your heart & soul agree
And your mind, it is convicted.
Your soul plays the referee between the other two.
Sometimes it will tell you things your mind already knew.
If you take a look, you’ll find the truth engraved within your soul.
But your heart has a choke hold when your mind says to let go.
It becomes a game of tug-o-war in 3 different directions.
Your mind just wants what’s best for you, & your heart just wants affection.
Your soul has the identity of who you really are.
It has the path that you must go although it may be hard.
At some point, you have to make a decision. Boundaries don’t keep other people out, they fence you in. Life is messy. That’s how we’re made. So you can waste your life drawing lines… or you can live your life crossing them.
But there are some lines… that are way too dangerous to cross. Here’s what I know: If you’re willing to take the chance, the view from the other side… is spectacular.
“This is how it works. I love the people in my life, and I do for my friends whatever they need me to do for them, again and again, as many times as is necessary. For example, in your case you always forgot who you are and how much you’re loved. So what I do for you as your friend is remind you who you are and tell you how much I love you. And this isn’t any kind of burden for me, because I love who you are very much. Every time I remind you, I get to remember with you, which is my pleasure.”— James Lecesne (via julie911) (via quote-book)
