I think the delirium of sitting in the same place at the same tiny table since 930am is starting to kick in….hence, the increase in posts and decrease in productivity lol.
Anyway, I’ve made Eon Cafe my home all day for two days straight…and staring at my work gets tiring, so I often find myself gazing outside to see the gorgeous sunny weather tease me or people watching. If you sit the cafe’s hours practically for its entirety from near open to close, you see a lot of different things and different people shuffle in (families, students diligently pounding the keys on their laptops and licking their fingers as they thumb through pages and pages, elderly couples drinking tea, eating pastries, and reading the newspaper and bouncing off ideas as they attempt to tackle the daily crossword, runners, etc.). You hear a lot of different conversations and the blending of accents and topics.
But one thing that I really wanted to note before the thought slips my mind…hopefully, I don’t sound too much like a creeper lol…is that one of my favorite cafe visitors has got to be couples with their newly born (or at least very young) babies. They grab a tiny cup of coffee, tea, what have you…they cozy up in a little table and place their baby carriage on the adjacent chair.
And then they just sit and stare. They wrap up their babies in blankets and cute winterwear (a pink beanie with a cheesy giant pink flower proudly standing atop their baby’s tiny little head). 30 minutes. No talking…just sharing in a silent gaze at the little tiny bundle of life in their arms.
It makes me smile because I can just sit here and almost experience their joy. 30 minutes of silence…and I can honestly say this happens with almost every couple and baby that comes in. It’s really an endearing sight.
And then I look away and pretend to take sips of my finished, empty eon coffee cup (my prop, so that I don’t feel so bad taking up space all day lol) so I don’t look like a freaking creeper hahaha.
Anyway, my brother needs to have a baby already…so I can have a baby to constantly spoil lol. (jk jk! haha).
New life though…it’s refreshing!
